Hello, Ladies!
For our next meeting, we have discussed the date Sunday, February 5 at 1 pm. Please let us know ASAP if the date does not work for you. Amanda will host.
We also need your input on which book to choose for our next pick. I have re-set the vote, so please vote by December 4.
Our new member, Sapna, has added a suggestion to the list of books - Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. The Wikipedia entry describes the book as follows: "9/11 is a backdrop for the story of 9-year-old Oskar Schell, who learns how to deal with the death of his father in the World Trade Center. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close uses many nontraditional writing techniques known as visual writing. It follows multiple but interconnected storylines, is peppered with photographs of doorknobs and other such oddities, and ends with a 14-page flipbook. Foer's use of these techniques resulted in both glowing praise and excoriation from critics."
Looking forward to it!
