ReplyDeleteTo add to what Anne wrote above, today, we also discussed the process for picking our next books. We liked Robin's previous suggestion that we pick out all at once the six books we plan to read as a group over the next year. Thus, by the next meeting, we are all tasked with coming up with three book nominations. We also as a group decided that we will continue to allow people to "veto" suggestions when one of us has already read the book or has some other objection. We all agreed that there are just so many book out there, we would rather read as a group books that sound good to everyone.
For all of the above reasons, when you are ready, please post the titles of your three book nominations here to give people the opportunity to say whether they have read the book before and, if there is an objection, you will have the chance to come up with another title.
Once we have all the nominations, we each will vote for six and those will be the ones we read as a group. If people can't make the next meeting, we will make sure you can vote electronically.
I am looking forward to hearing everyone's suggestions!
